Wadi Eram is a visionary urban concept imagining a new type of oasis metropolis within the desert landscape. The project explores how water systems, vertical greenery, mixed-use towers, and integrated mobility can merge into a dense yet nature-driven urban environment.
Organized as a circular oasis habitat, Wadi Eram brings together cascading waterfalls, lagoon networks, residential towers, hospitality districts, and layered commercial spaces to create a fully immersive urban ecosystem.
The concept resonates with the ambitions of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan — expanding green space, strengthening walkable urban districts, and redefining how nature and density can coexist in future desert cities.
This project is presented as a conceptual tribute to Dubai — a city whose visionary leadership and commitment to innovation continue to inspire new possibilities in architecture and urbanism

The diagram provided, titled " WIND, STEAM, AND WATER CIRCULATION IN THE MICRO-CITY," illustrates a sophisticated passive-hybrid design intended to create a localized, cool, and humid microclimate within a micro-city set in an arid desert environment. This is achieved through a multi-stage process of airflow redirection, evaporative cooling, air pooling, and stack-effect ventilation.
Great Waterfall and Waterway / Lake: Large, vertical water features (labeled "Great Waterfall") and an expansive open waterway / lake provide the core evaporative cooling mechanism. As the hot, dry air (red/orange arrows) passes over and through these water features, the water evaporates, absorbing significant latent heat from the air. This process simultaneously cools the air and increases its moisture content, transforming it into "misty air."
Cool Air Pooling: The cooled and moistened air is denser (heavier) than the surrounding hot, dry desert air. This difference in density causes the cool air to sink and "pool" in a central localized depression within the urban landscape, indicated by the callout "Humidity Sink Zone (Cool & Moist Air)" and the blue swirl arrows at the "Humidity Sink" base level.
Water Recirculation Pump System: A "WATER RECIRCULATION PUMP SYSTEM" (hybrid element) pumps water from the lower lake/sink back to the top of the waterfall and suspended gardens, ensuring a continuous supply for the passive evaporative cooling process.

The oasis city transforms after sunset into a luminous landscape of waterfalls, towers, and public life — where water, light, and architecture redefine the desert skyline

Here, water becomes the spine of public life — transforming the desert into a vibrant landscape of movement, leisure, and gathering.

A tropical lagoon and urban beach bring leisure and everyday life into the heart of the oasis city.
Surrounded by garden towers, cascading waterfalls, and elevated walkways, the shoreline becomes a vibrant destination where nature, recreation, and urban living merge.

The circular masterplan organizes the city as a layered oasis ecosystem within the desert landscape.
A central cluster of mixed-use towers rises around the main civic plaza, while concentric urban rings integrate residential districts, retail environments, mobility corridors, and recreational landscapes.
Water becomes the defining element of the plan: cascading waterfalls feed lagoon systems that weave through the city, creating public spaces, waterfront districts, and microclimates that transform the desert environment into a living oasis. The master plan utilizes a circular layout to optimize airflow and natural cooling. Every building is positioned to act as a wind-catch, funneling breezes toward the central waterfalls to naturally lower the temperature by 5-8°C.

This longitudinal section reveals the spatial and climatic structure of the oasis city.
From the surrounding desert dunes, a large cascading waterfall feeds the central lagoon and waterway system, generating humidity and evaporative cooling within the urban core.
A cluster of high-rise towers rises around the central civic plaza, while residential garden towers form the surrounding urban rings. Elevated transit corridors connect the districts above the landscape, separating pedestrian and vehicular movement.
Together, water systems, vegetation, and the concentric urban structure create a protected oasis microclimate within the desert environment.
